The South Office Tower is the final structure in a four-structure super block development that contains two eight-story apartment buildings, an eleven-story office and condominium tower and the ten-story South Office Tower. The analytical model considered soil-structure interaction to minimize the cost of the structural system.
Structural drawings were created in six weeks under a new building code. This is significant considering additional building loads, such as access floor and rolling file storage areas, were added after the design was completed. We were able to accommodate the additional loading proposed by the Owner within the six-week period without strengthening the existing foundation.
