From commercial and residential spaces to parking and hospitality locations, post-tensioned concrete is a cost-effective structural solution for many different types of high-rise projects. With years of experience designing post-tensioned concrete systems, we have pioneered their use in the Portland region. Typically, these designs feature economical post-tensioned concrete flat plate floor slabs with concrete shear walls to resist wind and seismic loads. The placement of structural walls within the building cores provides efficient structural systems that easily accommodate a variety of floor plans.
We have designed many of this type in the region of varying heights, footprints and below-grade amenities. The 30-story Mirabella, which uses a dual system of specially reinforced concrete walls with a moment-resisting frame to resist seismic demand, is one example of our work. The Strand, which covers two city blocks with 585,000 square feet of enclosed space, is another post-tensioned concrete project in our portfolio
